| The apartment The guest apartment is located directly next to the apartment of the host. The apartment with separate entrance is to be found on the 3rd floor (no elevator) of a newly renovated old building and offers a large (24 m²) and small (12 m²) room, a large balcony (6 x 1.5 m, south-west facing), a full equipped kitchen (12 m²), in which guests are able to prepare and enjoy meal, tea or coffee.
The Berlin enthusiast has eclectic interests and has been preoccupied for years with accommodating traditions and people from around the world. Also living with the host, is a Hungarian journalist who reports on the city's current affairs, primarily on art and media. There is therefore an ever-changing array of scientific and artistic guests, who from time to time leave behind small work exhibitions to be marvelled at. up to 6 stay for free The surrounding area The guest accommodation is located near to the public park Hasenheide in the north of Neukölln, near the district of Kreuzberg and Treptow. Here you will find an open air theatre/cinema, an open air pool, tennis courts, the Jahn sportshall and naturally enough space to simply relax. Nord-Neukölln (Kreuzberg + Neukölln = Kreuzkölln or Reuterkiez) has developed into the locals' best kept secret in the last few years, since it has accrued several new galleries and interesting cafés. In less than 5 mins you can reach the Landwehrkanal, one of Berlin's oldest waterways, which links up the two large rivers of Berlin the Havel and the Spree. On the bank of the Landwehrkanal, you will find numerous cafés, green areas and footpaths, along which you are able to explore the city. If you wish you can also hire a canoe for exploration! Although this offer only applies to those with experience, since the Berlin waterways carry busy traffic, especially from passenger ships. Those who do not wish to travel by canoe can take advantage of the numerous offers of ship tours: as Berlin was built on water, a boat trip offers a special view from this perspective. Trips on offer last from 1-6 hours and trips to Potsdam with these ships are possible. There

You are also very welcome to lend a bike from the host in order to explore the city. he northern part of Neukölln is dominated by well preserved, densely populated historical buildings and is in many repects orientated towards its neigbouring district, Kreuzberg. Approx 150 m away, Hermannplatz, one of the liveliest places in Berlin, awaits visitors to Neukölln, for whom Karl-Marx-Straße is a well-known shopping street. Here you will also find the most extraordinary opera in Germany, the Neuköllner Oper (musical theatre). Transport links The apartment is ideally situated for travel links- the Neukölln underground station is only 5 mins (500 metres) walk away, the bus stop at Fuldastrasse is a 3min walk away. By bicycle (which can be lent from the host), you are only approx 30 mins from all the important tourist attractions and Berlin's squares.
